The Book:    Extra-Ordinary: Stories of Manitobans with Down Syndrome

The Book Extra-Ordinary: Stories of Manitobans with Down Syndrome is a collection of non-fiction stories that explore eight very different worlds. These stories are about the daily, ordinary, and sometimes extraordinary experiences of Christine, Jason, Finley, Ruth, Bryce, Josiah, Mary, and Bryson. They’re about getting fired and making friends. They’re about winning and losing and swimming and skiing. They’re about laughing and loving and looking forward to sex. Everyone has a story to tell. You just have to ask.The author is donating all profits from the sale of this book to the Manitoba Down Syndrome Society.About The Author:Jordan Power is an advertising student in his final year of the Creative Communications program at Red River College. This spring, he’ll also graduate from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He’s written for a number of Winnipeg news outlets, including the Winnipeg Free Press, the Uniter, and the Projector.  Jordan is a Claudia Wright Essay Prize nominee and a Union-Speaking Prize Essay Writing Contest nominee. Jordan likes zombie movies, trampolines, and going to bed early. He also writes a weekly blog about Winnipeg’s sandwiches. Book Launch:Saturday, Febraury 28
