Wow! What a great way to finish celebrating the National Down Syndrome Awareness week! Just over 190 people filled the Waverly Heights Community Centre and ate and danced the evening away. This year, Danny’s Whole Hog Catering provided the delicious BBQ chicken meal and fixings. Even with a full house, the caterer had everyone through the buffet line quickly and some had time for second helpings! After dinner, the door prizes were handed out, followed by brownies and cookies for dessert. The lights were then dimmed and the dancing started! Platinum Productions, the in-house music man, provided the tunes and light show. There was something for everyone – from One Direction and Taylor Swift to Bon Jovi and AC/DC! It was a night of seeing many familiar faces and welcoming some brand new families that we hope will continue to join us for the annual dinner and dance. While Alison and Karen bid adieu after 12 years of organizing the event, rest assured it will continue to be a fantastic event! See you next year!

MDSS extends our sincere thanks to Karen Nicholls and Allison Armistead who have organized and hosted this event for many, many years!  Ladies, your dedication to hosting this  evening of fun and networking has been most appreciated.
