MDSS Normie Film Screening
As we continue to strive to create more opportunities for our community members to connect, I am excited to extend a special invitation to you for an exclusive screening of the acclaimed documentary “Normie”
It’s a film that tells the story of Annemarie, a young adult with Down syndrome, as she wrestles with the idea of being “normal.” It’s also a coming-of-age story for all of us who have wrestled with questions of identity and goodness and God and whether our lives have any purpose or meaning.
We have been hoping to get this event on the books for some time and this event promises not only a thought-provoking cinematic experience but also an opportunity for our members to come together, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that make the MDSS so special.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Théâtre Cercle Molière for allowing us to host the first, of what we hope will be many, events like this in in their beautiful facility!
Event Details:
- Date: January 26th, 2024
- Time: 7:00-10:00pm
- Location: Théâtre Cercle Molière – 340 Provencher Blvd
- Tickets: Members Free ~ Non-Members $10
Before the screening, there will be a chance for us to mingle, connect, and share our experiences. This pre-screening gathering is an excellent opportunity to build new friendships and catch up with familiar faces who share our passion for creating a more inclusive society.
Snacks and drinks will also be available for purchase during the pre-screening mingle and after the film. It’s a great chance to relax, unwind, and continue our conversations in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
While we are excited to gather as a community for this special screening, we would like to advise that the documentary explores themes that may not be suitable for children. We recommend that attendees be of teenage age or older. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to sharing this experience with our mature and supportive community members.
Space for the event is limited, so please RSVP by to ensure we have adequate arrangements for everyone attending.
