Low-Income Access -MDSS

Posted in: MDSS Announcements

The Manitoba Down Syndrome Society strives to provide support and opportunities for all members of our community. In order to increase the accessibility of our programs and services, the MDSS has taken the initiative to increase access for low income members or families.

In order to measure low income the MDSS refers to the Statistics Canada Low Income Cut-Offs, after tax (LICO-AT) measure. When requesting additional supports to access MDSS programs or services, you may be required to present an MDSS administrative staff member proof of income. Proof of income may include a notice of assessment from the most recent tax year, EIA budget letter, or other legal documentation indicating your income. If you are from a rural area or an area outside of Winnipeg, please let MDSS know this when submitting your request as it may impact how your income is measured. You can download the application below.

Please note that your information will be kept confidential as per all relevant privacy legislation.

If your income is below the following, based on your family size, the MDSS may be able to assist you in accessing our programs and services, including membership. Please contact info@manitobadownsyndromesociety.com for more information.
